Lead article for a plea for a new culture of dispute in the journal of the German Chemical Society (December 1998)
Gunter Festel wrote the lead article in the in the journal ‘Nachrichten aus Chemie, Technik und Laboratorium’ of the German Chemical Society/Gesellschaft Deutscher Chemiker (GDCh). In this lead article he pleaded for an open culture of debate and the courage to offer constructive criticism. This article was the basis for the foundation of the GDCh working group Chemical Economics and later the Association for Chemistry and Economy.
Promotion as product manager for synthetic rubber within the rubber business group of Bayer (May 1998)
Gunter Festel was promoted to product manager for ethylen-propylen-based high-tech rubber for Europe, Asia and Africa within the marketing department for synthetic rubber in Leverkusen with sales responsibility in the range of 100 million Euros and profit/loss responsibility.
