Participation of the German delegation to visit BioMalaysia in Johor Bahru (October 2013)
Gunter Festel was a member of the German delegation to visit the BioMalaysia BioEconomy Asia Pacific Conference & Exhibition from 21st to 25th October 2013 in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. This delegation tour was organised by the German Federal Ministry for Education and Research to initiate co-operations between Germany and Malaysia in the field of biotechnology.

Gunter Festel was elected as a member of the board of directors during the general meeting on 4th June 2013 and elected as chairman within the constituent meeting of the board of directors on 2nd July 2013.
Entrepreneurship lectures within the EU Programme Nanoforce in Prague (June 2013)
Gunter Festel gave entrepreneurship courses to students from all over Europe in Prague from 26th to 28th June 2013. The symposium with the title "How to transform your Scientific Knowledge into a Private Enterprise" was organised within the EU technology programme NanoForce.

Gunter Festel as CEO of Butalco presented Butalco’s yeast technology for biofuel and biochemical production at the Bioenergy and Biorefinery Conference Southeast Asia in Singapore on 26th March 2013. This conference was organised by the BioEnergy Society of Singapore (BESS).
Presentation about the Bio-based Industry at the CRIBIQ Annual Meeting in Montreal (February 2013)
Gunter Festel gave a talk on financing and investment models within the bio-based industry at the Annual Meeting of the Consortium for Research and Innovation in Industrial Bioprocesses in Quebec (CRIBIQ) in Montreal on 13th February 2013. CRIBIQ is a non-profit organization created in 2008 to promote and support the realization of innovative bioindustry projects in Canada.
Presentation about biofuels and enzyme technology at F.O. Licht's Next Generation Biofuels Conference in Copenhagen (February 2013)
In his roles as Founding Angel and as co-founder of Autodisplay Biotech, Gunter Festel gave two presentations at the F.O. Licht's Next Generation Biofuels Conference in Copenhagen on 6th February 2013. The titles of his presentations were "Economics of Biofuels and Investments in Early-stage Biofuel Technologies" and "Advanced Enzyme Technologies for the Production of Biofuels and Bio-Based Chemicals".
