Moderation of a start-up collaboration event of the Technologie-Forum Zug (December 2019)
Gunter Festel was invited to moderate the start-up event Be Up Date & Collaborate where start-ups presented collaboration opportunities with established companies. This event was organised by the Technologie-Forum Zug (TFZ) and the Centre Suisse d’Electronique et de Microtechnique (CSEM).

Invitation for a lecture by the Technical University Darmstadt (September 2019)
Gunter Festel held a lecture with the title "Importance of Start-ups and Investments by Founding Angels" at the Technische Universität Darmstadt on 30th September 2019. In this lecture he described the founding angel model and the impact on technology transfer in Europe as well as his personal learning effect over the past 10 years.
High school scholarships in Myanmar awarded by the Umbrella Kids Foundation (August 2019)
Within the Child's Dream programme, the Umbrella Kids Foundation has awarded high school scholarships to students in Myanmar. The academically strong but underprivileged students have now the chance to continue their education and to obtain their diploma.

Gunter Festel has visited his 97th country and thus more than 50% of all countries in the world. Despite the bad reputation in many Western countries, especially the richness of the cultural heritage in Iran and the openness and friendliness of the people were beyond words on this tour.
Acquisition of all assets of the insolvent company Davos Diagnostics (March 2019)
Davos Diagnostics developed a point-of-care diagnostics platform based on evanescence technology with a laser-based readout device. After the insolvency of Davos Diagnostics, Gunter Festel acquired all assets to improve the technology and found a new company with some of the key people from Davos Diagnostics.
